Bee & Tea is a partnership between sisters, Bridget and Natasha Chetwynd. Inspired by childhood visits to their Granny in Normandy, they both have a deep love of flowers, gardens, beautiful objects, home-grown produce and cooking, which is reflected in how they decorate their own family homes and the first Bee & Tea range.
The sisters, who felt it was important to support English manufacturers and save on air miles, have sought other small family run businesses that pride themselves in their craftsmanship to produce the range. Their mugs are made in a factory in Stoke-on-Trent run by three brothers and the fabric products come from a small friendly manufacturer in Lincolnshire.
Bridget’s artistic talent has combined with Natasha’s business acumen to launch Bee & Tea.
Since graduating from Wimbledon School of Art, Bridget Chetwynd has worked extensively as a theatre designer, children’s book illustrator and designer of greetings cards for Camden Graphics.
Drawing on Bridget’s background in painting and design, and her strong aesthetics and sense of humour, Bee & Tea products combine vibrant colours with the minimalism of Japanese design and the classic kitchenware checked motif, around beautifully painted still lifes and floral themes that have long featured in Bridget’s card designs and gallery exhibitions.
Natasha Chetwynd has an MBA from Edinburgh University and more than 20 years’ experience in business and management in the shipping and fund-management industries.
